Fantastic book, - To be honest, I disagree this book is better than the text book published by Cambridge. Although this book does have nice diagrams and all, it overlooks some information on the organic section, i.e. it does not mention the catalyst required for the nitration of nitrobenzene (H2SO4). I did not like the entire section on unifying cocepts at all because I found it very confusing, the book gave lots of equations on calculations, but did not make clear what they were. The book is ok on trends and patterns, nothing bad, nothing special. But it does a brillant job on explaining lattice enthalpy.
definitely worth buying! - This text book is much better than my school text book and another revision guide I have, because it s conscice, and also gives you thorough understanding. It was pretty much all I used for A2 chemistry revision and it got me an A.
Really useful! - I m currently in my last few weeks of college before finals and so bought this book in a last minute panic. It s really easy to understand and has made me more confident in my chemistry ability (which isn t that extensive, believe me!). Everything is explained really well and at an understandable level. It s not too basic though and explains everything you need to know. I haven t given it 5 stars because it doesn t have anything about acyl chlorides, which is a new topic for the syllabus, however this isn t a big deal as it s only a very small section of the course.A fantastic, easy-to-understand, no-nonsense revision guide. I m off to buy the AS copy for my resits!
